Invalid receipt from Mac App Store

I recently upgraded my MBP. Now, when I try to load Cyberduck I get a bouncing duck - it loads and unloads - continuously. I can't kill it with activity monitor. All I can do is reboot my machine, uninstall and then re-install the application. I've even deleted the associated config and plist files. I've enabled debug logging. This is what I found repeated in the log:

Can you please try to move /Applications/ to the trash and then reinstall from the Mac App Store.

Thank you for the response.

I've deleted and then reinstalled from the Apple Store multiple times, to no effect.
