Hi there,

We're currently evaluating CyberDuck as our company's alternative to FileZilla (I'm sure many people are doing the same recently).

Our team is testing, but they have a concern with the Quick Look functionality. They love it, but are worried due to the auto-save feature.

If you open in Quick Look, then close it, the file is automatically saved and updates the file stored in the FTP server.

Is there a way to disable the auto-save functionality? If not, what about disabling Quick Look?

Thanks so much! Limitless

  • Summary changed from Quick Look - disable option? to Disabling caching of downloaded files for QuickLook
  • Type changed from defect to enhancement

The files downloaded for preview with QuickLook are in the user temporary folder and should be deleted when you quit the application.

Thank you for the information. It's great it is automatically deleted, but the file that is on the FTP server gets automatically updated with the new file when it is closed.

Is there a way to stop the file on the FTP server from being updated after being opened in Quick Look?

  • Resolution set to worksforme
  • Status changed from new to closed

Files previewed in QuickLook are not uploaded but only cached locally.
