With some passwords there happen strange things in the password-field of the login-sheet. A single keystroke results in some form of expansion (so instead of one * that is added, several are added at once). This will only happen with some letters. For example in my case I see:

||d || *********||
||e || ***********||
||q || ***||

My guess is, that there is some form of autocompletion active for the password field, which takes its suggestions from the names of the bookmarks. The same thing happens in the sheet to open a new connection, but this time with the field for the username. But here it is trivial to see what is happening and how to correct it.
