On v7.4.1, Cyberduck would crash when opening Amazon S3 buckets that had filenames containing colons (":"). On v7.3.1, this didn't happen. During a download, Cyberduck would silently change the ":" to "_". I don't have access to other versions, so I don't know the exact version where the behavior changed. I also haven't tested with any other Windows illegal filename characters. Also haven't tested other protocols.

Environment: Cyberduck v7.4.1, Windows 10 Home version 1909
