You have selected to use the browser connection for file transfers. Thus no transfer is visible in the Transfers window but only in the progress display of the browser. The Activity shows current and pending actions that are executed sequentially in the browser. |

I'm not sure if this is by design or a bug, but it's strange and seems inconsistent to me that you have three places to display information about ongoing transfers: The footer of the browser window, the "Activity" panel and the "Transfers" panel.
The problem is, they don't show the same information, and mostly it seems that the Activity and Transfers panel don't show anything at all, even while a download is in progress, like you can see in the attached screenshot.
My proposal would be to get rid of the Transfers or Activity panel and just have one that shows all types of activity progress, and have that always show ongoing activities if there are any.
