I'm also finding this to be the case with version 8.5.7 (39535) on an M1 Mac. Reiterating especially that I am able to download and edit a file by double clicking, but once I close it, I can't open it again either by double clicking or by trying right click -> Edit With unless I force quit CyberDuck and relaunch it.

Same here. Is get lost while saving/downloading/previewing a file and I have to force quit.
It happens almost after some inactivity time, so it may be a keepalive.

Sounds related to #14455. Please test with the current snapshot build available through Preferences → Update → Snapshot Builds.

Very new to this. Will new installers be posted? Or what is my next step on OS X?
Thank you.

@ricandste
After the ticket got closed, the change will be included within the next Snapshot version up to a day later or, respectively, within the next Release version.

Snapshot versions can be accessed by choosing Snapshot Builds instead of Release or Beta within the Cyberduck preferences Update tab and clicking on the Check for Update Now button afterward.

You generally need to wait for the next release version if you use the App Store version instead of the standalone version from our website, as the App Store version only has access to the release updates. Cyberduck will notify you when the respective version is available if you have automatic updates activated and the corresponding update feed selected.
