If a transfer is queued because the max number of connections is exceeded, there is no way to cancel it. Selecting it in the transfer window doesn't enable the 'remove' toolbar button.

You have to use the Stop toolbar button.

Ah, indeed it works, but may I say that stopping a transfer which hasn't begun yet is not very intuitive.
