When connecting to my "Freebox" (french linux based TV/ADSL box), caracters such as "è" are not properly displayed: it shows a "?" with black background.
It wouldn't be a problme if files could still be moved, renamed, or downloaded. But they can't. You get a "550 Request action not taken (file does not exist or no access)".
Hi had to use Transmit, which handles caracters properly, to rename the files and then could go back to my prefered ftp client to download them ;-)

Hi set encoding to ISO-8859-1 and that fixed the pb.
However, why is it not automatically set to this encoding? In other words, wouldn't there be a way to detect the correct encoding automatically?
