Further information. Any Mac that uses Cyberduck to upload a file to the Diskstaion can then see and properly access the files. No other computers are able to access it.
With Cyberduck build 4069 now at least, files can be properly uploaded to a directory already existing on the FTP server, but these problems happen when you try to upload a full directory.
I have uploaded some files to a friend's Synology Diskstation DS-207+ with the latest firmware from July.
Every file is invisible to his Mac. His Vista Ultimate 64-bit PC can see the files, but gets permission errors when they try to open the files.
I was using v3.01 from May, and in testing upgraded to build 4069 from 11-Jul-2008 and behavior didn't change.
Other FTP clients on other platforms were tested without problems.
He has filed a support ticket with Synology. If you guys need a test account, we can supply you with one.
