I created with a wiki software by mistake a file and a folder with an "ß" in the name.
Cyberduck was able to show them, but with a "?" inside a square instead of the correct character. It was not able to delete or do anything on them.

I finally tried different softwares and I had to use Transmit demo to remove the elements, even the ftp client from the terminal had problems.

Try to change the character encoding used. See 'View' → 'Text Encoding'. Try UTF-8 (the default), ISO-8859-1 and Windows-1252. Refer to the common problems page in the wiki.

I always used UTF-8, also when I encountered the bug.
