I think it'd save time if the file extension was left unhighlighted when the filename is highlighted after choosing to duplicate a file. As it is now, you have to retype the extension when typing the new name. And presumably the file type would stay the same when duplicating anyway.

While, I mostly agree that different highlighting would be better, I also disagree because typically when I duplicate a file, I actually prefer to add a date/timestamp to the END of the file AFTER the extension. So... style.css would be duplicated to: style.css.200909160548
But, I agree that having to retype the file extension is rather tedious.
