IO Error: Can't assign requested address #12294

2968560 created the issue

Can't get past "New Connection" screen.

FTP is selected from drop down menu.
Server: "upload.comcast.net" (as per comcast instructions)
Path: left blank (no instruction to tweak this)
Username: "mrthuse" (as per comcast instructions)
Password: used comcast password as per their instructions
"Add to Keychain" unchecked
"Anonymous Login" unchecked (occasionally checked - same result - nada)
Connect Mode: Passive
Encoding: "UTF-8"

CONNECT

"IO Error: Can't assign requested address" has been the result for th past 3 hours.

Thoughts?

Most probably a local networking problem
