When using command-G (go to directory), it fails with syserr if one of the directories on the path is not readable. However, it should be enough to have the traversal right (--x).

I cannot replicate this. Using Command-G will change directly to the new working directory without attempting to read any directories 'in between'. Please reopen this ticket if are sure this is not an error in the server software used.
