If it was possible to establish a mock "connexion" to a local disk or folder, you could use the synchronize fonction of Cyberduck to sync local folders .... which would be very convenient for backup purpose (one probably wants to backup both on a distant server and locally on an external hard drive - i know i do!)

If there is any real market for this that would be in its own tool.
