After updating Mac OS X 10.4.6, error message "Hostname cannot be resolved" shows up and can't log in the FTP server. What should I do?

There is a problem determining the IP address of the hostname you entered. Check your network configuration in the system preferences and/or see if you can contact the hostname with other applications (such as ping from the Terminal.app)
