It works fine on my other Mac in the same room but not on my laptop. I've tried messing with the firewalls, resetting them all back to default, deactivating them, but I keep getting this error. Please advise.

On my macbook pro, I have the same problem. The only firewall is the corporate firewall for the building.

Probably related to #12378. Try to use a passive connection (FTP Passive Mode).
