I am having the identical problem under the same circumstances. Here is the error I get. I am sorry I uploaded 3.6.1 Previous versions were terrific. Please help us all with this problem, or tell us how to revert back to the version that works Thanks, Bill |
I forgot to show the error message I got. It is:
The xxx.xxx.x.xx IP is my unique router address The is our DSL assigned Static Ip address These conditions are the same as Richards's Bill |
The error message indicates that you are trying to use Active (PORT) connect mode whereas you are behind a NAT where such a configuration is not possible. Altough we should fallback to Passive (PASV) connect mode, you might need to choose this manually from the bookmark settings. Please post the full transcript from the log drawer of your connection attempt. |
Please forgive me, but I do not know what the solution is! Where in Cyberduck do I find the bookmark settings to change to PASV? The configuration I have been using with Cyberduck was very possible for months, and now you tell me it is not possible, because I uploaded the most recent update that I was told to do. I can only conclude that the 3.6.1 update caused the "Not Possible" problem. How can you close this when you have not solved it, and if you have solved it why do you want my logs? May I ask, Can you give us instructions to complete the solution? There are several people waiting. Thank you. PS I just changed the bookmark settings for the only host that does not work to PASV in Bookmark/edit/more options/connect mode. The same error problem comes up again. Please note that I used Cyberduck to FTP to 2 different hosts. One uploads fine the other does not. I was asked by the new 3.6.1 Cyberduck when I tried to connect to previous hosts the following:
For the host that still works I clicked on "Continue", and have no problems. |
I found that clicking on Open Connection at the top left corner opens a window which at the bottom under More Options is a Connect Mode: Default. You can switch to passive mode there. It worked for me. Good luck! Did NOT work for me. |
Tried setting it up with PASV as you said worked and it still fails, more than once. Note the small padlock on the icon for the host that does not work. Why is it there and not on the other host, and it appeared when I hit "Change" as described above |

Please note that I used Cyberduck to FTP to 2 different hosts. One uploads fine the other does not. I was asked by the new 3.6.1 Cyberduck when I tried to connect to previous hosts the following: Unsecured FTP connection The server supports encrypted connections. Do you want to switch to FTP-SSL? "Don’t show again" "Continue" "Change" For the host that still works I clicked on "Continue", and have no problems. For the host that will not let me upload and gives the error messages I sent you, I clicked on "Change" Then the icon for the host where I clicked "Change" now has a small icon in the lower left corner, but the other one does not. |

You can change the protocl back to plain FTP in the bookmark setting. Choose FTP (File Transfer Protocol) instead of FTP-SSL (Explicit AUTH TLS) |

Never mind, I figured it out. If I used the bookmark icon instead of the menu at top it led me to the FTP change option. Thanks! |
I have used Cyberduck for the last several months for uploading to an FTP site. Unfortunately, after upgrading to v3.6 I am unable to open a connection. I can open the site but I am unable to upload to it. The FTP error message I get reads: "I won't open a connection to 192.168.1.5 (only to 76.169.236.168)." I haven't changed a thing regarding my router or computer software settings, only upgraded Cyberduck. Now that I have lost the old version, I can't find any prior settings. I just upgraded to v3.6.1 today, but still no luck. I need help.
