One more thing. Do you have some documentation on how the sync works. If I delete some things on my hard drive and then sync will they automatically be remove from the web site. I seem to have a lot of old stuff on the web site that I no longer use such as jpg files and even html pages.

Refer to Synchronization. Deleting files is not supported in synchronization.
