I saw in 3.8 that the slow uploading via SFTP was fixed, but i don't think it actually has,

in cyberduck i have an average of 130 kb/s upload, on my desktop running windows 7 use filezilla, i get around 500 kb/s same internet connection.

I get much faster speeds up to 1MB/s on a WLAN here. Must be a local issue.
