marco.b created the issue

In the Italian localization when the toolbar is hidden the menu entry "Visuale > Nascondi Barra Strumenti" ("View > Hide Toolbar") is displayed instead of "Visuale > Mostra Barra Strumenti" ("Show Toolbar").

The translation of these is provided by OS X. In theory, you should see the issue in other applications having these menu items, too.

Actually I have tried with some random applications: Bean, Max and Transmission and Transmission is the only one displaying the same behaviour Cyberduck displays; I guess the other applications provide their own localization strings,

Thanks for looking into this. I have reported a bug to Apple several years ago about the missing option to override translations that ship with the system. E.g. it is also not possible to provide localizations for these items for languages that are not part of OS X.

You're welcome! Probably the developers from Bean and Max may help you in some way. I have found some information here:
http://www.bean-osx.com/localization.html
but maybe you already know that stuff.
