Removable drive is mounted with correct permissions - SSH can use the keyfile with no problems.
However, CyberDuck's file navigator for finding the file "removes" all removable drives, preventing selecting the private key file.
WORKAROUND: if you select your personal home-directory, then click the dropdown for fast navigation, you can select the system's root folder (which is also missing from the CyberDuck navigator), THEN you can navigate to the list of all Volumes on the local computer.

We are using the standard open file prompt from the system with no custom configuration. I don't see where we would deliberately hide drives. I don't know if changing the settings in Finder → Preferences → Sidebar makes a difference.
Private key file is stored on removable drive.
