Transfers Window inoperative fro ftp transfer #6279

When I transfer files using ftps protocol the transfers window operates normally, however when I'm forced to use ftp protocol, the transfer window doesn't report the status of the transfer.
Is this deliberate, or is it an issue that needs to be addressed?

Transfer status reporting should be the same for all protocols. Please post a screenshot of the issue and the transcript from the log drawer (⌘-L) of the Transfers window.
