When I upload a file to Amazon S3, the modification date is set to the date of the upload. This happens although I have checked "Preserve modification date" in the preferences. Am I doing something wrong?
The only similar ticket that I found was one where you explained that with WebDAV, modification dates cannot be changed. Is this related to my problem?
Thank you very much!

Setting timestamps is not currently supported in S3 because the API has no such feature per se. We could add our own proprietary metadata to the uploaded files to store the modification date.
