Cyberduck not connecting anymore #7217

Have you tried removing the application support directory in |
Hi dkocher, Thanks for these suggestions. Yes, I had tried to remove the application support directory but that didn't help. Opening Cyberduck in another user account works. I've tried to repair disk permissions and boot into safe mode (which allegedly performs some system maintenance works) but Cyberduck still won't find any servers (not even the default ones show up upon program start). Would you have any further suggestions? Thanks, |
The only message I get on Console when I open Cyberduck is
Does that have anything to do with it? |
No further suggestions? |

You can also try removing the preferences in |
Of there is a incompatible library installed in |
In my initial post, I stated that "I've deleted Cyberduck and all associated files to perform a new clean installation" which did not solve my problem. This, of course, included both the deletion of the Application Support directory in ~/Library/Application Support/Cyberduck/ (which was your first suggestion) and the plist file ~/Library/Preferences/ch.sudo.cyberduck.plist (which was your second suggestion). I fully understand that Cyberduck is free, open source software and therefore users cannot expect to receive extensive troubleshooting support. Maybe, however, the troubles reported here could help developers find incompatibilities with other software to ultimately come up with more stable versions of their program. In any case, closing a thread with the problem clearly unsolved is ridiculous. If you don't want to invest the time to try and find out why users are running into specific problems, don't lure them into opening tickets and posting their problems. A simple FAQ-page with standard answers (that may or may not help) would save both you and the users all the trouble. |

Please see my above comment to look for libraries installed in your account that could possibly cause trouble. |
Another option would be to load the latest snapshot build from (https://update.cyberduck.ch/nightly/) which has a bundled runtime and is less fragile to interoperability issues with installed libraries. |
Thanks for these suggestions. I'll have a closer look at them this weekend and post here if any of the above has worked for me. |
Dear Cyberduck developers,
I've been successfully using Cyberduck (currently running v 4.3.1 on Mac OSX 10.8) for several months to connect to a couple of servers in our office via SFTP. For a couple of days (maybe since I performed a recent Java update on Mac OS?), Cyberduck has been failing to connect to any servers. Trying to solve this problem, I've deleted Cyberduck and all associated files to perform a new clean installation. Still, Cyberduck boots but only shows the spinning wheel representative of a search for servers (the bookmarks tab is empty). The open connection button brings up the appropriate field to specify server details but no connection can be established. I don't receive any error messages, the log drawer is empty and Console didn't show any error messages that I would associate with Cyberduck.
Any help with this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert
