I'm attempting to isolate a problem on my mac. I too, got the notice to install the Java SE 6 runtime after installing the newest version of Java. Since I installed Java SE 6 runtime I've had numerous slowdowns and memory usage problems. My Q is: How do I uninstall Java SE 6 runtime from my mac 10.8.3 ? I realize that this may seem a bit off topic here but I can't find anything on the subject and Cyberduck was the only reason why I had installed Java SE 6 runtime in the first place. Thanx...

Move /System/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/1.6.0.jdk to the Trash.

Note that the latest snapshot builds of Cyberduck require no system wide Java installation. See #7115.
