Steps to reproduce:

Using sublime edit (2 or 3), also seen with textmate
SFTP connection to any given server
Edit a file, save, close, repeat several times
Go to another file, maybe let the session get stale(?)
Try to re-edit a file you've already edited and the editor does not launch
If you refresh and double-click edit often enough in a row it will eventually pop up again.
Other files appear immediately if you click on them. It appears to take a dislike to certain files once in a while.

It's as if the "open the editor" hook isn't being called if the remote file is already in local cache and you double click to edit the remote file and there hasn't been any changes.

That bug report looked much better before it removed all my formatting. Sorry.
