Is it possible to set the application to ask for the password once when
you initially open a connection but not every time as you upload files?
I've tried the keychain option but it saves the password all the way
through. With the key chain on it just opens up the connection the next
time I open it with the keychain enabled.
I like typing the passwords so I don't forget them but only once would be
preferable instead of always or not at all. If I am not being clear I will
try to explain further.

Duplicate for #7888. We do not store passwords in memory after the login attempt is successful. Therefore the password cannot be reused for file transfers but is either retrieved from the Keychain or entered by the user.
