When deleting a directory that contains many files, cyberduck appears to go inside the directory and delete each file individually. This can take many minutes depending on the number of files. It should be possible to delete the entire directory with one command. For example, I can ssh into my server and type the folowing command to instantly delete a directory.
rm -rf directoryname
