If the bookmarks can be organized into paths on the server which can then be grouped into folders per server, it would be great faster and easier to work with the paths and folders. For instance, let us say you work on a project that has a development, integration and production environment. The code base, path and folders are going to be same on all environments (although you may or may not work with the same set of folders in each environment). So you should be able to create a folder (or whatever) per environment/server, and put all the frequently accessed paths as bookmarks under the folder. I suppose this is not a specialized scenario or something.
With the above setup, you can login into a server, should be able to jump across the bookmarked folders with a click. Also with the ticket #8036, you can jump within the folder path just as easily.
