I can't log in from my Mac

I've tried everything, but I can't seem to log into my FTP Server. I obtained the FTP yesterday and haven't been able to ever log in. Next to the URL is a yellow triangle with a '!' inside. The Network Diagnostics show that the Server under the Network Status has failed.

According to my HostGator cPanel, I'm typing all the information correctly. However, the Network Diagnostics says, "Cannot find server. This computer appears to have a working Internet connection, but cannot find ''. You may have typed the address incorrectly."

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
