#9952 closed defect (worksforme)

Enable copy of text from log drawer and error popups

Reported by: TheBashar Owned by: yla
Priority: normal Milestone: 6.0.1

Platform: Windows 10

Description

I've been doing a lot of testing lately and it's very difficult since I cannot copy the often requested contents of the log drawer or error dialogs. In the log drawer I can highlight text but there is no context-menu, Ctrl-C does not copy it to the Windows clipboard, and the Edit menu "Copy" entry only works for the selected file browser contents. Though less familiar than the Windows text select & copy paradigm, I have seen some programs provide a button in error dialogs for the explicit purpose of "Copy Details to Clipboard".

  • Resolution fixed deleted
  • Status changed from closed to reopened

In build 6.1.0 24925, which I believe is after r41144 and r41145, there is now a copy item on the log drawer right-click context menu. However, selecting it does not actually copy the text of the log drawer.

Make sure to select the text to copy first.
