What is Cyberduck?

Cyberduck is an open source FTP/SFTP (SSH Secure File Transfer), WebDAV and Amazon S3 browser licenced under the GPL.

Is Cyberduck free?

What are the requirements to run Cyberduck?

Cyberduck 3 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later. Previous versions run on 10.3.9. Refer to the changelog. Make sure to install the latest Java Update from the System Software Update.

Cyberduck isn't available in my language!

Why not translate it yourself? Contact me and I'll send you the relevant files. Current available localizations are English, Czech, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese, Slovak, Spanish, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified Han), Russian, Swedish, Hungarian, Danish, Polish, Indonesian, Catalan, Welsh, Thai, Turkish, Hebrew, Latvian and Greek. How do I submit a bug report?

Open a new ticket using the issue tracker with a description of what you have a done and what went wrong. Make sure to look or search for existing tickets first.

How do I request a feature?

Look or search first in the issue tracker if this hasn't been requested before. If not, then open a new ticket describing the missing functionality.

Why isn't there a local file viewer/two pane interface in Cyberduck?

That's what is for. Use drag and drop (eventually together with Exposé) or Menu File → Upload instead You can also copy files in the and then paste them in Cyberduck using Menu Edit → Paste from Finder.

What proxy servers does Cyberduck support?

SOCKS 4/5. You can adjust the proxy settings in the System Preferences.

Where does Cyberduck store its Preferences?

In ~/Library/Preferences/ch.sudo.cyberduck.plist. Bookmarks, History and Workspace information is saved in ~/Library/Application Support/Cyberduck/.

My preferred editor isn't supported.

An editor must support the external editor protocol (ODB). It is currently not possible to use an arbitrary editor.

Choose Localization

Over 20 localizations are included in Cyberduck. When launching the application, the first matching language is choosen according to the Languages list in System Preferences → International. To change your preferred language for all applications, change the order there. If you only want to disable a localization in Cyberduck, use File → Info for in the Finder and uncheck localizations you don't want to use in the Languages section.
